Arbusto, se siembra en parques, jardines, cerca de las viviendas, para disfrutar del profundo y agradable olor que emana de sus flores en las noches de verano (DIC-ENE-FEB), puede tener varias floraciones al año. Se puede sembrar en macetas grandes.

Se sugiere podar en invierno (JUN-JUL-AGO), para disminuir las ramas, la planta puede crecer hasta 3 m de altura. Las hojas y flores no son comestibles.

Physalis peruviana - Ecotipo colombiano

Se siembra en cualquier época del año en espacio protegido en macetas y a una distancia de 2 x 1.5 m en campo definitivo. Es necesario cultivar en lugares libres de heladas.

El fruto viene protegido naturalmente por un cáliz de forma acorazonada, cuando madura el fruto toma un color naranja con un sabroso sabor agridulce. Tiene buenos rendimientos en suelo fértil.
